Our Busy Summer

Awhile back I wrote about how busy our summer was going to be and I thought I would just update everyone on how it is going.

"C" has already attended his Bible Camp, this was the first time he went somewhere different, but he seemed to truly enjoy it. I asked him if he accepted God into his heart and he told me he reaffirmed because he had already accepted Christ into his heart at his first camp. I was ready to cry, I am so happy for him! This week "C" is at Boyscout camp, "B" told me he was so excited before he left he hardly slept the night before. I can not wait till he gets home and I can ask him how it went. "C will only be home for one day before he leaves for his work camp "mission trip." We just got the list today of what he will be doing. He is going to be doing laundry for senior citizens, helping to pack gift baskets for the homeless and packing care packages for Hospice. Then he will be home for the rest of the summer.

"D" is at his first timers camp at bible camp. I am excited to see how it went, we get to pick him up tomorrow. His week was too short so I could not mail him a package but I am hoping he had fun finding all the "goodies" I left hidden in his bag.

Last week we were blessed to have my niece and nephew staying with us, we and a wonderful, fun filled week. We stayed up late and got up early and everyone was exhausted by the time the weekend came and it was time for them to go home. Here is what we did: we went swimming at the community pool a couple times, went swimming at the water park once, went swimming at the lakes (my dad's place) a couple of times, went mini golfing, went to the movies, went to a softball and baseball game (E's" and "D's") and went to a fun day in the park. We literally had something every day. I had so much fun having them up here. The kids also had a lot of fun visiting.

This past weekend we had a cousin get together and although not many could make it we had a blast getting together and talking to each other and generally just getting reconnected. I then stayed at a cousins house and we talked late into the night like we did when we were kids. It was a lot of fun.

Anyway there is a brief look into our lives. I have kind of let the house go a little this week because I need to recharge, but I feel that's all right, the house will still be here next week to clean! This fourth we plan on just staying home, I am a little sad because this will be the first summer we are not at the lakes, but we are so busy it did not make sense to go to the lakes for a half a day.

Wishing everyone a very happy 4th of July!

Oh Angela~

What a nice post! I love that about "C" reaffirming his faith, because he already gave his heart to Jesus at his first camp! SO SWEET!! I can see how it nearly brought you to tears! You guys sound as busy as us, just with different things. I hope our parents are having a good vacation so far, too. We are praying that all goes well and they come back refreshed...Joan, too! Anyway, just wanted to say hello and wish you a blessed 4th of July weekend!

love ya,
~Tanya

I was all excited to comment, then I read Tanya's comment and realized that she said everything I was going to say! It sounds like you guys truly are busy, but sometimes being busy with all the kids at home is a good thing! :)

Have a wonderful holiday! Miss and love you!
